The Classic Trio
The Classic Trio Lisa Austin Laura Olinger Debra Veit

Together since 1995, the Classic Trio has been performing *concerts and recitals, as well as feature performances in numerous public and private events in Ridgecrest, California. While specializing in Classical and Baroque music, they perform a diverse selection of styles that also includes Romantic, Contemporary, Liturgical, Pop and Jazz. This all-woman trio consists of two flutes and cello.

SEND EMAILLisa Austin holds a Bachelor of Music, Cum Laude, in Flute Performance from California State University, Los Angeles and studied with Ervin Monroe and Patricia Garside. She currently performs with the Bakersfield Symphony, the Eastern Sierra Symphony, and the Desert Community Orchestra, in addition to solo performances and the Classic Trio. Lisa is also the band director at James Monroe Middle School.

Laura Olinger holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from San Diego State University. She studied with Glen Campbell, Paul V. Anderson, and Erika Duke. She is a founding member of Eastern Sierra Symphony and Eastern Sierra Chamber Orchestra. She also performs with the Classic Trio. She teaches violin, viola, and cello at Owens Valley School in Independence, conducts the Deepest Valley Youth Orchestra, and teaches private lessons to students in the Owens Valley and Ridgecrest area.

Debra Veit holds a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University and a Masters in Music Education from Moorhead State University. She studied with Timothy Running and Lise Mann. She was formerly principal flute with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony and currently performs with the Eastern Sierra Symphony, The Desert Community Orchestra, as a soloist and with the Classic Trio. As teacher and conductor, Debra Veit also teaches private flute lessons and is the music teacher at St Ann.

Lisa and Debra were duo soloists with the Desert Community Orchestra, performing the Doppler d minor concerto for two flutes and orchestra.
